Home treadmills weigh 40 – 65 kg unpacked. Gas-shock hinges support most of the weight during folding, so an average adult can fold and unfold single-handed. Semi-commercial units (85 – 110 kg) usually need two hands but still fold without tools.

Does folding damage the belt or motor over time?

No — the fold hinge is separate from the belt and motor. Folding places no stress on either. As long as you use the gas-shock hinge (don't drop the deck), a foldable treadmill lasts identically to a non-foldable one.

Can I fold a walking pad and slide it under a bed?

Yes — walking pads are designed exactly for this. Most fold to 12 – 18 cm thick when laid flat. Check the folded-height spec against your under-bed clearance before ordering.
